Spark IoT Roadshow – WGN & QTN over March 2023

Event Details

As part of a nation-wide roadshow by Spark, Aotearoa businesses have a terrific opportunity to discover how using the ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) and emerging technologies can help boost their business, reduce costs, improve health and safety, save time on monitoring and reporting, increase efficiency, and return on investment.

IoT encompasses every object or thing connected to the internet. From sensors to smartphones to vehicles to entire buildings, IoT is made up of connected devices that “talk” to each other while collecting useful information that isn’t available otherwise.

Spark is holding free information sessions in March 2023, and is inviting the local business community as well as public sector organisations to register their interest to attend via mobilestudio@spark.co.nz (spots are limited and subject to availability):

  • Wellington: 15-16 March 2023
  • Queenstown: 29-30 March 2023

The roadshow will cover a variety of IoT and emerging technology solutions:

  • Asset tracking: Knowing where your portable assets are is key to running a more efficient business.
  • Fleet tracking: Businesses have leased or purchased vehicles for a purpose, and if left untracked, there is no simple way to ensure those vehicles are being used for their intended purpose and in a way that is safe and sustainable.
  • Water monitoring: IoT connected devices can monitor water storage levels and flow. They can detect and locate pipeline leaks and can also show where and when demand is occurring to help forecast future demand.
  • Environmental monitoring: Monitor and manage a wide range of business needs from temperature to humidity, pollution, noise and light sensors.
  • Smart cities: Smart Cities, campuses, ports, airports, hospitals, etc. use connected infrastructure to make life better for people and planners alike.
  • Artificial Intelligence: By combining AI with IoT we can observe the multiplier effect, allowing both technologies to display capabilities that neither could exhibit on their own.
  • Edge computing: Edge computing will enable data to be processed closer to the source enabling ultra-low latency for time sensitive tasks.
