Since going live in November 2011, Ramon Pollach, the Managing Director of Bonn Appliances, a business specialising in importing and wholesaling hospitality equipment, says he has been enjoying the ‘single source of truth’ his SAP Business One system provides.

“Not having to worry about the integrity of the information in the system is huge. When I post a transaction, record a sale or trace a stock item I know I am getting the right answer from the software.”

Bonn AppliancesHe says this is a huge improvement over his previous business management software, which produced different answers depending on where he happened to be in the system.

“It constantly failed to add up correctly. All our stock is serial number tracked, but unfortunately the stock columns and serial number tables were continually out of synch and feeding me erroneous figures. We import expensive food processing equipment from Europe and Asia and having a bug ridden system cost us in lost stock and was a serious brake on our growth.”

Pollach selected SAP Business One because he wanted a robust system that would grow with his company. “The core system is rock solid and I was confident any extra functionality I added would be tried and tested and would integrate seamlessly.”

Pollach has installed Boyum, an SAP Business One productivity add-on, which he says has allowed him to tailor the software so it looks and operates the way he wants it to. “I can adjust fields in the master file and designate which ones are compulsory, which allows me to collect exactly the information I need.

I have also established a number of alerts in the system that remind me when critical actions are due for completion.” SAP Business One is saving time and allowing him to manage by exception. “I can keep track of stock, see which of our several hundred dealers has sold it, whether it’s been returned and whether it is still under warranty. A lot less information is falling through the cracks and SAP’s automation features are making our sales reporting processes a lot more timely and targeted.”
