After a careful evaluation of all the ERP alternatives, C E Bartlett selected the only option that could provide a single, unified platform for their diverse business…

C E Bartlett is a family-owned company that is recognised as an Australian leader in products made from industrial textiles such as canvas and woven polyethylene.

The selection of COGITA and Epicor by the Ballarat-based industrial textiles manufacturer followed a careful evaluation of several ERP systems.

Speaking of the decision, Bartlett’s Manager of Corporate Services, David O’Brien, said “the appeal of Epicor is the flexibility it offers C E Bartlett to run five separate production divisions, each with their own unique production process, and have these all working independently in the one integrated ERP system. I am confident that this type of flexibility will allow us to work together well into the future.

”The multi-stage project begins with the Bartlett Blinds division where Epicor’s rules-based configurator will enable faster turnaround of quotations and orders for custom-made products.”

As part of their strategic planning, Bartlett’s board and management team had recognised that it was necessary to overhaul the company’s fragmented and dated information systems in order to support the ongoing development and expansion of the business.

Bartlett’s analysis showed that an up-to-date, unified Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system could unlock synergies in the business — helping support sales growth and improvements to customer satisfaction and profitability.

C E Bartlett is a family-owned company that is recognised as an Australian leader in products made from industrial textiles such as canvas and woven polyethylene. The Bartlett product range extends from sun blinds, awnings and caravan annexes through to tank and dam liners, irrigation flumes, semi trailer side curtains and tarpaulins and covers for grain and hay. The business has also expanded into defence, safety and emergency products such as flexible water tanks and portable altitude chambers.

Founded in 1956 when sail maker, Cliff Bartlett, began repairing tarpaulins in his family home, the business continues to grow under the leadership of Cliff’s son Keith, supported by his brothers Max and John. Their enduring success is based on a total commitment to service and quality, along with ongoing investment in new technologies.
