PwC has launched what it calls a ‘unique kind of digital consulting’ in the New Zealand market…

PwC Digital offers a ‘digital and experience solution, from strategy and innovation through to execution’. The company said its Digital team is comprised of existing PwC digital consulting services, with expertise in strategy, innovation, experience design, technology solutions, data and analytics, and cyber security. It builds on the firm’s June 2014 acquisition of user experience and design consultancy Optimal Experience.

In a statement, PwC CEO Bruce Hassall said technological advancements and the pace of change are overwhelming for many organisations. “They are seeking a strategic adviser with a deep understanding of digital business.”

New Zealand organisations want to see a strong connection between digital investments and business objectives, said PwC. It said 95 percent of New Zealand CEOs say clear vision of how digital technologies can achieve competitive advantage is key to the success of digital investments (drawn from PwC’s 2015 CEO Survey). Ninety-seven percent say the same for having a well-thought-out plan – including concrete measures of success – for their digital investments; yet, said PwC, most companies are not prepared to address the challenges and opportunities of digital.

“Implementing a digital strategy that gets results isn’t possible by tinkering around the edges,” said Hassall. “Companies need to reconfigure their operating models – and perhaps their business models. They need to ensure that they’re not only investing in the right digital technologies, but can deploy them in a smart and effective way.”
