Intergen to help DIA ‘reimagine’ Kiwi access to govt services…

Intergen will be playing a ‘fundamental role’ in transforming the way Kiwis access government services, after winning a multi-million dollar deal with the Department of Internal Affairs.

The deal is part of the wider NZ$90 million Te Ara Manaaki transformation project to ‘reimagine’ how New Zealanders’ access government services, providing online and mobile platforms for government services. The DIA manages New Zealand’s ‘identity and life event information’ – known to most of us hatched, matched and dispatched records, passports, citizenship and other travel documents.

“The programme puts customers at the heart of identity and life event services.”

DIA-Intergen-2018 signingIntergen parent Empired says its initial scope is estimated at NZ$10 million over the first two years of the five year deal, which also has options to extend for a further four years.

Intergen has been contracted to deliver a customer centred management solution, which will provide management tools to support customer interactions with the DIA. Last year the DIA noted that the customer centred management solution will provide account and contact management tools to support the organisation’s understanding of historical customer interactions, manage products and stock and workflow and workforce management.

Intergen will also deliver the customer identity and access management solution to enable DIA to better understand customer identity and entitlement to services and information. The system will manage the requirements and permissions for identifying customers, partners and staff. Both will be developed on Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 platform.

“The programme is charged with putting customers at the heart of identity and life event services, and making it easier for them to access these services,” Intergen says. The online and mobile platforms will enable Kiwis to access services when and how they choose.

Intergen says it expects to assist DIA with a range of additional service throughout the life of the programme.

Simon Bright, Intergen CEO and Empired chief operating officer, says “It is a true privilege for our team to be able to play a role in this highly impactful programme. We are excited to have the opportunity to change the way public services are made available to each of us in New Zealand.

Russell Baskerville, Empired managing director says the deal is ‘an outstanding result and hugely significant milestone’ for the company.

“It is the beginning of an exciting journey, where we have the privilege of being able to play a fundamental role in helping to transform the way in which New Zealanders access Government services,” Baskerville says.

Earlier this year Intergen’s work with Dynamics saw them invited into Microsoft’s global inner sanctum – the Dynamics Inner Circle – for the fifth time in six years.
