Founded in 1981, Melbourne-based E-Plas is a specialist plastic materials supplier serving industries from mining and shipbuilding to nuclear medicine and food production, through offices across Australia. When its long-standing accounting vendor announced an ERP product to replace its ageing software, E-Plas evaluated it and found the database structure and inventory management weren’t strong enough, and basic reporting was too complicated to extract.
General manager Sean Kelly found Jiwa instead, drawn to its ability to handle accounting alongside inventory, purchasing and warehousing in one system with a consistent interface across modules – important given E-Plas would end up deploying 32 Jiwa licences across a 51-person business with a wide range of computer skill levels.
The shared layout and menu structure across Jiwa’s modules has made the system easy to learn without close supervision of every user, and E-Plas has also cut the frequent system downtime that plagued its previous setup.
