CAMEX Civil, founded as Cambridge Excavators in 1998 and now a North Island-wide civil contractor specialising in large-scale earthworks, siteworks and roading with 225 staff across several group companies, had outgrown an accounting package propped up with add-on software and spreadsheets. A separate project management application that didn’t integrate with any of it left leaders without a clear, current view of projects, people and assets.
CAMEX Civil ran a comprehensive market test against requirements including API connectivity, no server maintenance overhead, multitenancy across its group companies, and room for customisation, settling on MYOB Acumatica – supplied and implemented by Verde Group’s Avanza Solutions practice – for covering field service management, contracts, project management and standard financial and inventory modules in one system.
“When businesses start getting bigger, ERP becomes one of the core gospels a company requires to know how it is performing,” says CAMEX Civil Performance and Services Manager Kyla Lambly, describing the new system as delivering the information accessibility the growing business had been missing.
