MONA, the Hobart museum, winery, brewery, restaurant, accommodation and events complex that became Tasmania’s second most popular tourist attraction within a year of opening in 2011, needed one financial system that could handle every side of its business at once – more than 50 profit centres and around 500,000 transactions a year across hospitality, agriculture, manufacturing, retail and ticketing.
MONA runs its finances on Greentree, integrated across 20 point-of-sale terminals with the Greentree IQ reporting module giving real-time data on each of its 50 individual profit centres.
“Within the company we have about 50 individual profit centres, and in seconds I can group or exclude any number of different profit centres and get a consolidated result,” says Patrick Kelly, MONA’s Accountant – a system that’s scaled with the museum’s rapid growth while adding only one extra person to the finance team.
