The Pentarch Group’s Agricultural Division exports quality-controlled Australian oaten hay, compressed into 25kg and 50kg bales and shipped to customers across Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China. Strict chain-of-custody rules require each bale to be tagged with the precise origin of its raw materials, critical for tracing any ryegrass toxicity that could otherwise sicken livestock.
Pentarch has run JD Edwards for around a decade, partnering with Fusion5 since 2018 for ongoing development and upgrades. Inventory was tracked in JD Edwards down to item, location and lot number, but the system only recorded what was in stock, not where it physically sat in the warehouse – forcing staff to manage raw material types in spreadsheets and count bales by hand to reconcile inventory against the warehouse management system.
Working with Fusion5, Pentarch built JD Edwards enhancements to close that inventory-to-warehouse gap, automating a process that previously relied on manual counts and spreadsheets across bale-processing and storage sites on both the west and east coasts of Australia.
