New Zealand trade and enterprise is inviting tenders for a multi-channel project “to position New Zealand as a world leader in technology innovation”…
The document on the government’s GETS tender website says with the spotlight on New Zealand during the Rugby World Cup, it makes good business sense to leverage this increased attention for the benefit of the wider economy.
The initiative allows respondents to leverage off the RWC activity but it’s not mandatory the initiatives are RWC-specific. The budget to the winning respondent(s), not including potential sponsorship, is $200,000.
Groundbreaking
The proposal seeks a “groundbreaking idea or project possibly already underway, which has the potential to position New Zealand as world leaders in ICT innovation.”
The project specification in the RFI is intentionally broad so as to not constrain the thinking and creative license from respondents.
The idea needs to be up and running by mid-2011, in time for the RWC. The RFI closes on December 13, the successful respondent selected by February 7 and the project begun on February 28.
