Kiwi iPhone developers conference

Jade Software will host the country’s first conference dedicated to iPhone and iPad developers in Christchurch on 4 December, 2010…

Jade Software’s John Ascroft,  said the company had been inundated with requests for development of iPhone and iPad applications and encouraged by the iOS developer community to organise a conference to share creative ideas, experiences and opportunities.

“The smartphone market is growing exponentially with analysts predicting they will outnumber feature phones in many markets within two years.  These devices are transforming the customer experience, redesigning business processes and creating new software opportunities for New Zealand developers on the global stage,” said Ascroft.

In recent years investment in software and IT infrastructure has fundamentally focused on transactional computing systems for capturing, storing and reporting information.

Turning point
Jade Software’s Chief Technology Officer, Roger Jarquin said this is changing rapidly with the focus of new investment on what some analysts call systems of engagement.

“Systems of engagement bring together computational intelligence, high performance data management and communications-based computing to create a very different real-time, on-demand experience for users.

“We have reached a turning point in technology that has unlocked the potential for machine learning engines and intelligent agents to engage directly with users through devices such smartphones,” said Jarquin.
