LG Mobile says its new GW620 smartphone – the company’s first product based on Google’s Android’s open operating system to launch globally – through a deal to offer it exclusively to Telecom XT customers.
LG has labelled the GW620 a “friendly smartphone” and says it is aimed at delivering “a refined social networking experience for users expecting to have their social networking tools with them, wherever they go”.
“Through the GW620, LG is answering the consumer’s call to have handsets that deliver social networking capabilities wherever they might be,” says LG Mobile New Zealand’s business manager, Adam Gordon.
The built in SNS Manager allows users to keep in touch with friends, checking statuses, leaving comments and updating their own social networking sites remotely. The GW620 is packed with features and once again, LG is delivering a stylish handset designed for fast paced modern lifestyles.”
The LG GW620’s SNS Manager integrates a user’s social networking needs in one convenient platform, perfect for managing multiple accounts while receiving real-time updates from friends.
Telecom’s head of device management, Graham Gordon, says the company is “excited about the launch of the Android operating system on its XT network.
“The LG GW620 is a great starting point that will captivate the avid mobile social networker and we look forward to more exciting phones to be released on this platform in coming months,” he says.
The LG GW620 features a 3.0” full colour touch screen, which slides away to reveal a convenient, finger-friendly, five line QWERTY keyboard, perfect for typing messages at maximum speed.
It also features an autofocus 5.0MP camera and video recorder with advanced video editing tools, users can, shoot, capture and edit their experiences, sharing them instantly with the world at the touch of a button.
The phone also features LG’s new Auto Face -Tagging and Face-To-Action technology. By tagging a friend’s face in a photo, a user can execute a range of remote functions such as uploading photos to a favourite site or connecting through SMS, MMS or voice by simply touching the face on the display.
The LG GW620 will be available on the Telecom XT network from 22 April with a RRP $699.
