Adds supply chain solutions and BI expertise to stable…

Accenture has continued its buying binge, snapping up SAP consultancy Icon Integration for an undisclosed sum, adding new supply chain and business intelligence expertise to its lineup.

Icon Integration provides SAP digital supply chain solutions and services along with specialised business intelligence solutions to clients across Australia and New Zealand.

The deal will help meet rising demand for technology solutions by SAP users.

The Australian-based company, founded in 2011, has around 70 staff in Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand and focuses on supply chain execution, particularly warehouse management, and data optimisation as well as developing and delivering bespoke technology solutions for business performance and operational efficiencies. It’s customers include large retail, consumer goods and government organisations.

Scott Hahn, Accenture Australia and New Zealand technology practice lead, says the deal will help meet rising demand for technology solutions by SAP users.

“Combined, Accenture and Icon integration offer a unique proposition to help clients realise tangible business benefits from their technology investments,” Hahn says.

Paul Roddis, Icon Integration co-founder and co-managing director, says the deal will enable clients to gain access to a broader set of services and capabilities, locally and globally, while providing Icon staff with the opportunity to expand their skills and grow their careers through exposure to new clients, new work and new experiences.

The acquisition is the second SAP-focused acquisition in a month, following hard on the heels of Accenture’s purchase of Munich-headquartered Maihiro, which provides SAP-based customer experience, customer relationship management and e-commerce based services.

It’s also the fourth acquisition for Accenture in Australia since June 2019, when it acquired cybersecurity and technology company BCT Solutions. That was followed by the acquisition of big data and analytics company Analytics8 in August and specialist government consultancy Apis Group in December.

Bob Easton, Accenture Australia and New Zealand chairman says the acquisitions are in growth areas for Accenture, as clients look to capitalise on the innovation opportunity presented by the digital economy.

“These ongoing investments are a demonstration of our commitment to deepen our capabilities and to scale at speed, so we can better serve our clients and position our business for future growth.”
