ANZ New Zealand have launched their mobile banking application, ANZ goMoney, as a way for ANZ customers to transfer money between friends, relatives and businesses using only mobile phone details…
Currently available for use on an iPhone, ANZ goMoney is free and can be downloaded via iTunes.
With no need to enter a bank account number and without the recipient having to be an ANZ New Zealand customer, ANZ is touting the app as a game-changer for the mobile banking market.
“ANZ goMoney is the next evolution in mobile phone banking and the Pay to Mobile function will revolutionise person-to-person payments,” says ANZ New Zealand Managing Director Retail, Kerri Thompson.
“People are continuing to evolve and change the way they interact with banks. They want to do their banking when, where and how they want, and with goMoney, ANZ New Zealand has responded with a renewed focus on delivering innovation that works for our customers.”
The ANZ goMoney application was built in New Zealand for the Australian launch, where there is larger iPhone user numbers, and was then tailored for the New Zealand market.
In an attempt to alleviate any cold feet for users curious about the new technology, ANZ are guaranteeing adopters that, in the unlikely event that they are victims of fraud arising from use of the app, they will be reimbursed for any unauthorised transactions (provided that the user did not contribute to the loss and they notified ANZ promptly of the unauthorised transactions).
Once downloaded and registered, the app can only be used on that specific user’s iPhone, and only with a PIN number. It can’t be accessed on any other mobile phone.
Other features of the ANZ goMoney iPhone application include:
- Easy-access via a secure four digit PIN.
- Mobile banking capabilities – customers can check balances and transactions, transfer between accounts and make payments using Pay Anyone and Pay to Mobile.
- Accounts personalised with photos or images of the user’s choice.
- Session based security – as soon as the app is closed, banking information will no longer be available. Banking details are not stored on the iPhone.
