Two key appointments and a new Auckland office will drive Telcoinabox’s growth in New Zealand…

The move adds to the Sydney-based wholesale telecommunication solution franchisor’s already established Wellington premises.

New Zealand CEO Shannon Fisher says the company has big plans and the move is key to its strategy.

“In two-months we have already signed ten new service providers,” Fisher says

“If we continue to grow at this pace we could potentially become the largest telecommunications aggregator in New Zealand.”

Its offering includes mobile plans, fixed phone lines, voice over, broadband and toll free numbers. Distribution is done through more than 150 individually branded, owned and operated service providers worldwide.

Relationship agreements are also in place with Telecom New Zealand and TelstraClear.

Fisher says interest in franchises is strong and she hopes to bring on a diverse range of people.

“We recently signed a mother and son team. They joined because it gives them the freedom to juggle family with business and manage their work life balance at their own pace.”

She says service providers only need a phone, laptop, internet connection and an entrepreneurial spirit to sign up.

“This is the perfect combination for most women and our aim is to help more women see that they can have their cake and eat it too.”

The two new appointments are ex TelstraClear wholesale account director Greg Theron and CanTeen New Zealand’s deputy chair Guy Alexander. Both will be based full time at the Takapuna office.

“By adding to the team with strong industry experience and practical hands on know how puts us in an advantageous position to further expand into the New Zealand market,” Fisher says.

Theron, who has over 11 years experience in the telecommunications industry, takes on the business manager role.

He says Telcoinabox’s simplified business model attracted him to the role.

“After years of talking about developing systems with other industry players and then finding a business that has done it, is incredible.”

Theron will set up new service providers and assist them in achieving business goals.

Alexander is the new business development executive and will be charged with bringing on new services providers.

“My goal this year is to sign on 20 new service providers by the end of the year,” Alexander says.

“Based on the number of enquiries pouring in we are definitely on track to meet it.”

Telcoinabox was founded in 2002 and has about 50,000 residential and business customers worldwide.
