Businesses looking to move to cloud solutions should make sure their provider is compliant with applicable Inland Revenue Department requirements…

That’s the message from Agilyx New Zealand, which is one of just two cloud ERP vendors authorised to hold client business records offshore.

According to Matthew Pritchard, Agilyx operations manager, by demonstrating that its cloud hosting solutions comply with stringent record keeping requirements, the company’s clients don’t need to obtain their own approval. “It’s peace of mind. By satisfying the IRD, we’ve shown that our ERP solution can be depended upon to protect company data from compromise or loss.”

Pritchard explained that the company uses Australian data centres to make available it’s cloud solutions; it has looked across the ditch for Uptime Institute Tier-4 rated data centres, which are widely recognised as offering the highest levels of construction, information security and redundancy measures available.

Agilyx provides the ‘people centric’ Unit4 Business World ERP solution, most notably used by New Zealand Post, which is available on a cloud or on premise configuration. Pritchard said the services available from the company include shared cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud options.

“The availability of cloud ERP with a number of options for configuration and deployment extends the accessibility of business management software to far more Kiwi companies than ever before,” he noted. “But when looking at the many options available on the market, it’s a good idea to be sure of data sovereignty issues. Choosing an IRD-compliant solution can remove a whole lot of administrative effort which might otherwise be required.”
