New arrangement in local SMB channel mirrors a similar approach Dell has taken in other markets, the company says…

Dell has appointed Simms International, a newly-established distributor and supplier of IT products and accessories to the corporate and reseller channels, as its distribution partner for SMB partners and customers in New Zealand.

Simms International, which launched its New Zealand operation in mid-January, will stock Dell’s complete Vostro range of PC and laptop products as well as a range of servers, and peripherals such as projectors and laser printers.

Simms will also have access to Dell storage and networking products.

Dell says the New Zealand distribution deal is part of its global strategy, and builds on distribution partnerships that have already been established in countries such as India, China and Thailand.

“The move complements our PartnerDirect programme and further highlights our desire to put Dell representatives closer to New Zealand customers,” says Mike Hill, country manager for Dell New Zealand.

“Dell has more staff in New Zealand than ever before and we will continue to invest in New Zealand and to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.”
