SAP ANZ establishes Public Services and Financial Services business units…
With the establishment of two new business units, SAP is signaling its intent in key markets where it already enjoys a substantial presence. While the divisions ostensibly have a trans-Tasman focus, the company’s press statement is heavily skewed to Australia.
Damien Bueno leads the new Public Services division, while Tony Armfield is in charge of the Financial Services business unit.
The Teutonic ERP company noted that it counts ‘ninety-two percent of the Australian and New Zealand banks in the Forbes Global 2000’ as its customers; a quick Google search reveals that ANZ, Westpac, NAB and Commonwealth Bank are potentially among that number.
SAP ANZ president and MD John Ruthven said its customers demand industry expertise which is best delivered through dedicated business units, while Bueno noted that citizens expect the same level of digital experience from government that they receive from commercial brands. “All tiers of the Australian Government [s] are looking for ways to innovate citizen-centric services.”
Armfield added that “digital transformation in the financial services sector has been spurred by growing customer expectation of how to bank in the new digital economy. Moreover, serving these expectations is complex.”
He said the industry expertise SAP offers will ensure customers are successful with their deployment and use of the its technology.
