Rapid local growth proves New Zealand is fertile ground for ERP sales…

Texas-based Global Shop Solutions, a leader in producing ERP software for a variety of manufacturing, job shop, engineer-to-order, make-to-stock, and mixed-mode industries, has announced that it is opening a new office in Auckland, New Zealand.

Until now New Zealand sales and support have been managed from its Australian office as part of the vendor’s overall Asian Pacific operations. But following two years of strong customer adoption of its One-System ERP solution “made for manufacturers by manufacturers”, New Zealand now merits its own operation in downtown Auckland.

“Sales in New Zealand have doubled in each of the past two years,” says Dusty Alexander, CEO of Global Shop Solutions. “In order to keep up with this growth and provide the personal touch that our other Asian Pacific customers expect and value from us, we decided to open an office in Auckland office to serve the local market.”

Global Shop Solutions describe themselves as the largest family-owned ERP provide in the world. With 200 employees and a turnover of US$100 million they probably have a valid claim on that title.

Located in the Zurich building on Queen Street, New Zealand-based staff will focus exclusively on providing sales, technical and customer support for New Zealand customers. It will be overseen by William William, described as a “veteran Global Shop Solutions employee” and manager of the Singapore, Indonesia and Australian offices.

William, who hails from Indonesia was educated at Georgia Tech in the US and has held engineering and management positions in several US and Asian manufacturing companies over the past 10 years. Alexander says that this cross-cultural background and extensive experience with manufacturing ERP implementations make him ideally suited to leading Global Shop Solutions’ Asia Pacific operations.
