With Microsoft’s Partner Awards rapidly approaching, iStart takes a look at the ERP and CRM category finalists…

The typically swanky Microsoft Partner Awards take place in Auckland on the final day of March, with the accolades coveted by the vendor’s extensive network of resellers and solution providers. While company awards are made in no fewer than six categories (with an additional individual category), we’ve singled out the finalists in CRM and ERP.

Starting with CRM, the finalists are:

  • Fusion5, which created the MyLinc system for Lincoln University with Dynamics CRM to provide a personalised dashboard for applicants and students where they can see and manage key interactions with the university.
  • Intergen, which has provided CRM solution delivered on time and under budget with SharePoint Online incorporated as an added extra for document management.
  • Datacom, which has delivered a CRM solution for TSB Bank which has improved sales opportunity data availability, as well as mobility and data gathering, and helped consolidate data across branches in real time, reducing processing times.
  • Magnetism, which has built a database for Callaghan Innovation so it could in turn build New Zealand’s innovation capability. The solution integrates with the Companies Office, MBIE and internal systems to save time and ensure data is always up-to-date.

The competition for an award is arguably less fierce in the ERP category where, perhaps surprisingly, there are only two finalists:

  • Sable37, which, with its retail client Citta Design, has pioneered Cloud37 Retail, a cloud-based Dynamics AX Azure Solution, which ‘opens up a world of possibilities where the retail service can come to the customer’.
  • Theta, which has completed a Dynamics NAV implementation for Postie Plus which has streamlined the retailer’s procurement process along with enabling financial reporting across 65 stores.

The Microsoft partner ecosystem in the ERP space has, over the past 18 months, consolidated considerably, with a consequently reduced number of solution providers addressing the space. The vendor’s Dynamics AX has moved upmarket, increasingly targeting the enterprise, while its Dynamics NAV brand is more suitable for the vast majority of the New Zealand market: small to medium businesses.
