Global food safety and biosecurity services company AsureQuality is preparing for a cloud-first, mobile-first future by moving to the cloud with TechnologyOne…
AsureQuality is a commercial company entirely owned by the New Zealand Government. Based in New Zealand, it has a team of 1700 experts who assure the safety and quality of food being produced for millions of people worldwide. It also has bases in Australia and Singapore and has its sights set on further expansion. The company was already using Australia’s TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE) enterprise software in an on-premise environment and decided to move to TechnologyOne’s cloud environment to reduce future IT risks.
AsureQuality CFO Alan Bird said the company explored moving its existing TechnologyOne software to a hosted environment, but preferred the benefits of SaaS in terms of future-proofing the business, reducing risk, and freeing up the IT department to work on more value-added activities.
“Through the TechnologyOne Cloud we have an enterprise system that we can easily deploy globally to our 60 sites across New Zealand, Australia and Singapore. This makes it a lot easier to scale up as we grow globally, which was a key consideration for us.
“By using the TechnologyOne Cloud [SaaS model] we always have the latest iteration of the software. As patches and enhancements come through we now receive those automatically, without needing to go through a formal or complicated upgrade process.”
Bird said that the implementation went quickly and smoothly and the company was up and running in the cloud in just eight weeks. AsureQuality is also using TechnologyOne’s new Ci Anywhere platform, which allows the firm’s employees to access their information anywhere, anytime using smart mobile devices. The combination of the two solutions means that the company can operate in a cloud-first, mobile-first manner, which will make it easier to expand and add services in the future.
According to TechnologyOne more than 1000 leading corporations, government departments and statutory authorities use its software which it has been evolving to meet new business needs for the past 27 years. TechnologyOne executive chairman Adrian Di Marco said the TechnologyOne SaaS solution enables customers to reduce costs, adopt emerging technologies such as smart mobile devices and future proof their organisation.
